Who We Are

Our Roots

Did you know that Southbroom is a conservancy? For this reason, the Southbroom Conservancy was established in 2003, to ensure that our special biodiverse ecosystem would be protected. We know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding, we have been determined to make a difference.

The core of our endeavours is to bring the team's fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities we're involved in, mostly which happen behind the scenes! Through all our efforts we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

The Conservancy is a Not-for-Profit organisation of volunteers who manage and protect many of the aspects which make Southbroom special - its natural treasures!

What We Do

Making A Difference

Advocacy

To preserve in perpetuity, the natural environment of coastal riverine forest, coastal bush and grasslands for the benefit of the creatures occurring there and for the delight of current and future generations of mankind

Objectives

To protect and manage the environment through the application of sound conservation practices, including the eradication of alien vegetation, the removal of snares and the creation and maintenance of trails;

To educate, generate interest and activate participation by encouraging residents and other interested parties, to the preservation of Southbroom's ecosystem and the flora and fauna it supports.

To promote eco-tourism activities and build public awareness of the importance of the environment and indigenous flora by providing access to unspoilt green lungs of particular biodiversity and natural beauty.

To raise funds in order to achieve its objectives and mission.

Support

The Southbroom Conservancy is committed to the issue of support, which is by no means an easy feat! Through community co-operation and awareness, we believe we can make strides in this regard, building our membership base and encouraging donations. We invite you to learn more and lend your support.
